New Karl Denson's Tiny Universe Record Out Today!
Karl Denson's Tiny Universe is pleased to announce that the new album, Brother's Keeper, is in stores now! Brother's Keeper, the long-awaited follow up to The Bridge (2002), features an all-star cast including Jon Foreman of Switchfoot, Meshell Ndegeocello, Marc Ford (Black Crowes), and members of the Dap Kings, Eric Clapton's band and The Greyboy Allstars. The album is available to purchase online through www.karldenson.com and iTunes. The full album is available today to stream for free on Aol Spinner.
The band is currently on the road in support of the new record and we have announced a few new dates- KDTU will be returning to The Independent in San Francisco for two Thanksgiving weekend shows on November 27th and 28th. Fan club ticketing starts today at www.karldenson.com and will go on sale to the public this Saturday through The Independent and all Ticketmaster outlets. Other new dates include 10/4 at the Domino Room in Bend, OR, 10/6 at The Red Fox Tavern in Eureka, CA, and 10/18 at the Pozo Saloon in Santa Margarita, CA. Halloween in NYC, 2nd leg of Brother's Keeper Tour and new track!
Karl Denson's Tiny Universe will be holding their annual Halloween extravaganza at the intimate Bowery Ballroom in New York City. Details and guests will be announced shortly, tickets go on sale through KDTU fan club ticketing at 10am PST on Thursday August 27th and through the Bowery Ballroom on Friday August 28th at 10am EST.
The second leg of the Brother's Keeper tour will take the band back to the Northwest, with shows in Seattle at the Showbox on October 2nd and the legendary Crystal Ballroom in Portland on October 3rd. The Tiny Universe will then head down the coast to Sebastopol on October 7th, destroying a two night run in Santa Cruz on October 8th and 9th at Moe's Alley and a very special appearance at the Mint in LA on October 10. This show has a limited capacity and will go quickly so plan accordingly. All the West Coast shows after Portland will be "an evening with" with special extended sets by KDTU. The band returns home to San Diego co-headline a hometown San Diego show at the Smokin' in the Park Festival on October 17th with our friends Los Lobos and JJ Grey and Mofro.
KDTU Continues to the Midwest for a return to the Bluebird in Bloomington on Friday October 23rd and the Double Door in Chicago on October 24th. The band will hit Cleveland, Syracuse, Portland ME and Troy NY ( then Halloween!) before heading south to perform at the Variety in Atlanta on November 5th, the Music Farm in Charleston on November 6th ending at the Orange Peel in Asheville on November 7th.
We try to get as many shows as possible up on our fan club ticketing which offers folks a chance to buy tickets with a very low service charge (can everybody say "Ticketmaster sucks?") so take advantage of this service if you are planning to come down to any of the shows. The Tiny Universe is about to launch www.karldenson.com 2.0, a new website with videos and pictures from the tour, Karl's daily blog (yes, Karl has started blogging. He is posting daily now on Myspace and Facebook, leave him some comments, encouragement and love!) and new merch and posters by Rock Art maniac Scrojo. We have also just posted another teaser from the upcoming " Brother's Keeper" album, the track titled "Where It Counts" is up now for streaming on the KDTU Myspace and Facebook pages. The full album will be released worldwide on September 15th. Karl Denson's Tiny Universe is pleased to announce that "Shake It Out," the first single from the new album Brother's Keeper, is streaming now on the KDTU myspace page! KDTU will kick off leg #1 of the Brother's Keeper tour at the newly opened Brooklyn Bowl on Friday September 11. The place looks amazing with food from Blue Ribbon and bowling late into the night, come out and rage! The band then heads South to Acme PA for an appearance at the Boykin Ball with our friends Medeski, Martin & Wood in on the 12th. The Tiny Universe continues West with stops at the Magic Bag in Detroit on the 13th, The Intersection in Grand Rapids on the 15th, the beautiful Turners Hall Ballroom in Milwaukee on the 16th and The Cabooze in Minneapolis on the 17th. KDTU returns to Madison on September 18 for the Forward Music Festival with a performance at the Majestic Theatre, followed by a stop at The Rock Island Brewing Company in Rock Island IL on the 19th. The Tiny Universe will wrap up their Midwest run with their first trip to Des Moines at People's on the 20th.
The band makes a return to the Northwest at the end of September with shows at the Nightlight in Bellingham on September 30th, Friday October 2nd finds the band at the Showbox in Seattle and Saturday October 3rd is the triumphant return to the Crystal Ballroom in Portland. For the straight ahead jazz folks, Karl will be performing with a quintet tonight at Anthology in downtown San Diego. This is a beautiful, intimate room and a great chance to hear Karl in a different setting playing some new music written specifically for this show.
In other news, if you haven't yet purchased tickets for the Late Night Red Rocks Aftershow's this weekend in Denver at the Gothic Theatre on July 31 and August 1, there are still a few left from KDTU Fan Club Ticketing. These shows will run from 11pm-5am with DJ Mike Relm supporting on Friday and Marco Benevento trio opening on Saturday and DJ Rootz spinning after KDTU finish both nights. We are bring ing in extra sound and lights to take this show over the top for your listening and viewing pleasure. KDTU late night, all night...

KDTU Red Rocks Aftershows Announced
Karl Denson's Tiny Universe is pleased to announce two special late night Phish aftershows at the Gothic Theatre in Denver, CO on Friday July 31 and Saturday August 1. These shows will be presented by Colorado After parties and will feature DJ Mike Relm and others from 11pm-5am each night. Pre-sale tickets are available now from KDTU Fan Club Ticketing. Tickets will be available to the public Saturday May 30 from www.gothictheatre.com.
KDTU makes a return to the Northeast this weekend with a co-headline show in Philadelphia with our friends JJ Grey & Mofro on Friday night at the Trocadero, and a late-night Saturday performance at the Mountain Jam in Hunter, NY.
The Tiny Universe has announced several new summer festival dates including the Founders Fest in Grand Rapids MI on June 20, Jazz Aspen Snowmass in Snowmass Village CO on July 2, the Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland OR on July 3 and the Boykin Ball at The Church of Universal Love and Music in Acme PA on September 15.
In other Karl Denson news, The Greyboy Allstars have added two more festival stops this summer including a 4th of July celebration at Waterfront Park in Louisville KY, as well as a performance at the Steamboat Springs Free Summer Concert Series in CO on July 17.
